FAQ

1) what is the typical amount raised for a two-week fundraiser? (I know this is probably dependent on lots of things, but they are looking for a ballpark)

No idea on amount. It depends on how well you happy talk and encourage it with your folks. When we do this for Christmas Room -- look at JDonate to see those -- groups raise from $3500 - zip. It all depends.

2) would using this platform allow for a broader reach beyond our own donors, fans, etc.? (my guess is no, per our earlier conversation)

Sure, people who come by will see a list of available fundraisers -- especially with the new home page going up shortly! -- at the moment I have no plans to run ads to the page but you never know.

3) could this platform "gamify" the fundraising, like having a collective goal or encouraging friendly competition?

No, not on this platform -- but that is a CRIITCAL part of the group management of it, what I call the happy talk. "Hey, poor little Nick only has ONE FOOD BOWL! He looks so HUNGRY."

4) do the items have to be super-concrete like bowls of food, or can they be "levels" (I think our ED would like items to fit a range of budgets, like they have in Heifer - pair of chickens or a whole ark - but hard to do if tied to just one pup),

Yes and no -- the have to be concrete items or an IMAGE of some sort -- and YES, it's wise to have different donation items with a wide range of prices. That's exactly how we do the Christmas rooms, everything from $5 ornament to a $100 sleigh. Very wise to do that.

5) what would the day-to-day management tasks be during the typical fundraiser?
