JDonate is me, Cyn Mobley, and a diverse, geographically-separated network of virtual staff. I'm a retired naval officer, lawyer-turned-novelist, and dog rescuer.
Like most small companies, JDonate reflects what I think are the important things in the world. Outside of my family, there are four things that I care about: my church, my dogs, writing and martial arts. Anytime I can be working on at least two of those, I'm a happy camper. I also love technology, and I spend a good deal of time finding new ways to apply it to the things I care about. I'm not a programmer, but I've spent a fair amount of time in "Development" (that's code for "Fundraising") and I have a few theories about technology and fundraising I've been dying to try out. A few weeks before Christmas, I was looking for a cool way to let folks donate to http://atriskintervention.org, the 501(c) I work with to help rescue groups and kids. I had an idea for an online fundraiser but I couldn't find what I wanted. So I found a great coder at rentacoder.com and asked him to create it for me. Adi Romania, working overtime, brought it home a few days before Christmas. The result was our very first component, Joodrag. |
