JDonate is me, Cyn Mobley, and a diverse, geographically-separated network of virtual staff. I'm a retired naval officer, lawyer-turned-novelist, and dog rescuer.

Like most small companies, JDonate reflects what I think are the important things in the world. Outside of my family, there are four things that I care about: my church, my dogs, writing and martial arts. Anytime I can be working on at least two of those, I'm a happy camper.

I also love technology, and I spend a good deal of time finding new ways to apply it to the things I care about. I'm not a programmer, but I've spent a fair amount of time in "Development" (that's code for "Fundraising") and I have a few theories about technology and fundraising I've been dying to try out.

A few weeks before Christmas, I was looking for a cool way to let folks donate to http://atriskintervention.org, the 501(c) I work with to help rescue groups and kids. I had an idea for an online fundraiser but I couldn't find what I wanted. So I found a great coder at rentacoder.com and asked him to create it for me. Adi Romania, working overtime, brought it home a few days before Christmas. The result was our very first component, Joodrag.

That let to a much more sophisticated version, and then a cool way to display a fundraising campaign's progress (still in beta testing at the moment. If you log in on the JDonate site, I'll let you know when they're ready.)

Same thing with the templates (currently in development.) I couldn't find what I wanted, so I had them built.

And hey -- I figure if I wanted stuff like this, then maybe you might, too.

Thanks!

Cyn Mobley
